The other day I screwed up. I made a few typos in commenting on how much I loved a story on the copyblogger’s website. (A great blog that I read daily and highly recommend)  In fact, it was amazing how many typos, I made in a few short sentences. I know how it happened; I was so excited to comment that I cranked something out and pressed send. That’s right, no rereading, no editing just pure blah, blah then bam! off it went.

Haunt me later

This site gets so much activity I was temped to let it slide. But then I figured this will haunt me later. You know everything on the internet stays on the internet forever. So I did what I think everyone should do when they make a careless and sloppy mistake. Suck it up, admit it, send another message with apologies then hope they forget it and move on.

Typos and Boo Boo’s

Added bonus: It gave me an important topic for this blog.

In business there is no excuse for a “small indiscretion”, especially with spell-check. There is also no such thing as Boo Boo’s anymore. You are in the big leagues now.  But, if you get excited like me and press send, or hand it out without reviewing what choice do you have? Come clean and admit it. I do have one good tip; don’t do this on a regular basis, if you want to keep your job. Take that extra step and review. Save the apology for another day. You just never no. (Just kidding, it’s…know)
