Rick is principal and founder of NJ-based design boutique, Sunspots Creative. Under his leadership, his studio has achieved national prominence for award-winning advertising campaigns as well as direct mail, branding and promotional programs. Rick has extensive experience working with top corporate accounts and he personally has garnered over 250 national and international design and advertising awards. His work has been profiled and case studied in numerous industry publications, making him one of the most prominent designers in the country.
Before starting his own agency in 1996, this Rutgers graduate was a communications manager for several large corporations including Nielsen & Bainbridge and Panasonic. Rick feels those environments were great schooling grounds for understanding the network of approvals and red tape that often stifle creativity and prevent companies from thinking progressively. This nonconformist is instead hellbent on forever searching for the big ideas that enable his clients to separate from their competitors and stand out in their respective marketplaces.
In his spare time, this admitted sports and culture junkie is probably the only designer you’ll ever meet who can both comfortably converse about the evils of the Designated Hitter rule and name the entire starring cast of The Brady Bunch. In 2007, Rick became one of the youngest inductees into the New Jersey Advertising Hall of Fame.
